First day of Preschool!!!

Caylee Girl today YOU started Pre-k, I just don't know how my sweet little baby girl grew big enough to be a big ol' preschooler but you sure have!! You woke up this morning and were so excited to put on your brand new Dora shoes and pretty dress,  Caylee can I tell you a little secret, letting you wear those Dora shoes with your adorable little dress was hard for your mama! But you were so excited about them that I let my fashion hang up go for the day!!

Carleigh was so excited to walk you to your class and you hung up your book bag on your look hook and unzipped your book bag like a preschool pro!!!
Meme and I walked you in and you sat down on the rug like such a big girl! I couldn't believe that you just ran over there, you didn't cry not one single tear!! Mama was so proud of you!
Your classroom is really neat! It is fill with lots of new toys for you to play with, and so many fun things to do I know you are going to learn so much from your teachers and you are going to make so many friends!! Meme and I left and you did great, again you didn't shed a tear!! I waited anxiously to hear how your day went and when Mem got there to pick you up she sent me this picture
You were very busy playing like a big girl!! You called to talk to me and you said "mommy I had a great day! I colored and I drank milk and cookies and we wead books and I got to wead in the weading nook! hey meme where is my bink" and your mommy was a happy lady!!!! Caylee daddy and I love your sass and your spunk and all the cute things you do! We can't wait to see how much you change this year! We love you baby!

'twas the night before preschool....

I just tucked in my toddler for the last time, when she awakes tomorrow a sweet preschooler she will make.... I read her a special story and we laid out her new Dora shoes and her dress. I am not sure how we got here already. How is it possibly time to send my sweet cuddly last baby girl off to school. I remember the smell of her lathered in Johnson's and Johnson's baby lotion the day we brought her home, it feels like just yesterday and I hate to even say that because it is what every mother says. Tomorrow I will take her to school and her babyhood will slip away.... They will make her learn her colors the right way and they will correct her special baby way of saying some words, they will make her go potty without help and zip her own coat. She will learn to be independent and patient and how to make friends. Preschool will change her so much in such a good way and I am happy for that! But I promise you that tomorrow the very best part of my day will be when she runs back into my arms with her Binky and blankey and we climb into the rocking chair and we rock and I keep her my baby for a little bit longer!!!!

First Day of First Grade

Carleigh today you started your first day of first grade! It is unbelieveable that we are already to this milestone!! You are growing up so quickly and I just can't seem to slow you down any!! You were very ready for school to start, you missed your friends and were growing bored with all of the summer activites! This year your teacher is Mrs. Workman and you were very excited about that and a couple of girls from your class last year are in your class this year too! You ended your kindergarten year above average on all the reports they printed out so I know that academically you are very ready for first grade and all the new challenges you will have with the new stuff they teach you! It is possible that you already got in trouble for talking to much....I am afraid you are going to follow in your mother's footsteps in this aspect!! Being quiet has never been something we have been good at! You have such a bubbly personality and big heart and want everyone to be your friend, unfortuntely there are already kids that don't have those same qualities that have hurt your feelings. I know this is just part of growing up that I have to let you learn but I wish I could protect you from all the hard stuff. Your dad and I are so proud of the little girl you are and the little lady you are becoming! I can't wait to see what kind of great changes will happen in the next year!!

Five Minutes

Today started off on the right foot, Today I got out of bed BEFORE the alarm clock ever went off, I got ready before the girls woke up and we left the house 30 minutes early because I needed gas before I went to work, Today COULD have started off in disaster mode! I am notorious for driving my van until it is on fumes, I dont' know why I do it but I do, it is stupid I have ran out of gas way more times then one person ever should and Today should have been one of those days! But it wasn't, the van puttered into the gas station (Believe what you will but I believe Jesus stopped by with a little trickle from the gas can!!) and I was able to get gas and still not be running behind, Carleigh asked me to drive to her Meme's a different way, cause she was "bored with the same ol' drive" so I took a new route which took us by the park, I looked back in the mirror and saw two little blond heads looking longingly at the big slide, they weren't going to ask to stop but I could see the desire in there blue eyes, and then I looked at the clock, 7:10 a.m. we were no longer running 30 minutes early but we weren't running late yet either,  so I swung into a parking place and those little heads snapped around and looked at me like "Don't you be teasing us mom" I said come on we have five minutes, lets see what we can do! They got out of their seats and ran as fast as those sweet little legs would carry them! They each climbed up the big slide and went down a couple of times and we had just enough time for me to push them on the swings as they yelled "higher mom"! It was like a race against time, how much fun could we pack into those quick five minutes! With one last slide they both ran back to the car, no tears about it being done too quick, only laughter at the fun spontaneity of doing something that wasn't in our normal routine. Five Minutes changed my whole day, my mood is lighter, and I am carrying there smiles in my heart today. I hope that somehow today, you have Five minutes that will define your day in a positive way too!!

Reunions, freezer meals and more :)

This weekend was one of those prefect summer weekends, the days lasted forever and were spent doing all the things I love :) Friday night we took the girls out on a "date" as  Carleigh called it, shopping for school supplies and dinner at Bella Milanos, they did really well :) They are turning into such little ladies! This mama is glad to be done with diaper changes and formula bottles, it is funny as you transition from babyhood to childhood the freedom that you find once again!! I can think about going out to a restaurant and not be to worried if it is going to be baby friendly for my antsy kiddos, we were able to sit and visit the whole meal, Caylee only slid under the table twice for random reasons! Yes the Giggling Girl family is transitioning into a whole new realm and although I have LOVE LOVE LOVED every moment of babyhood I am SUPER excited for this next phase of their little lives!
After our fun Friday night we took it pretty easy on Saturday, did stuff around the house and helped Tim bake cheesecakes for his fifteen year reunion. The girls spent the evening playing board games and hanging out with Nana and Gma Shirley and had a blast while I had the chance to go out with my man and meet the people of his past, fun times! Look at these great yearbook pictures I found!!

Such a cutie!!!

Sunday was filled with lots of freezer cooking and baking!! Tim's new shift means that he eats breakfast at work on his "lunch" break so I made a bunch of breakfast burritos, sausage and cheese and bacon and cheese biscuits and froze them in individual baggies so that they are easy for him to grab and go! We also made zucchini bread with a garden picked zucchini!! Yum Yum!!!

The girls also helped daddy make a Mississippi Mud Dessert, which was to die for!!
Add in some swimming and yard work and it was the recipe for the prefect summer weekend!!! I can't believe summer is almost over!! We still have to squeeze in the fair and a Knights Action Park day!!! The fair kicks off tomorrow and the girls are looking forward to the twilight parade and "carnibble" rides!! Hope you have a great rest of your week bloggy friends!!! We will see you back soon!

Gasen Girl Giggles

Carleigh was telling an old teacher about a fish her dad caught on vacation " Mrs. P my dad caught the biggest fish on vacation" Mrs. P said "Well Carleigh that is very nice but I don't really like fish" Carleigh looks at her and says "That's okay Mrs. P. cause this fish was half CAT half FISH you would have loved it!"

This next one was back in April but I sure don't want to forget it!

Caylee peed on the bathroom floor a few days ago because she didn't get in there fast enough, I looked at her and said " Caylee Michele did you pee on my floor???" she looked up at me and straight faced with out blinking those big blue eyes said " no mommy but daddy sure did make a big puddle"

In our house we refer to girl parts as a "Junie" I know I know it is so not politically correct but hey it is what it is!  So one night I was reading Carleigh a story and she kept giggling as I read the little girls name in the story, the first time I did it her giggle was quiet, the second time I did it she giggled a little louder and the third time I said it she full out laughed and said "Mommy there is no way a mommy would name her kid "Junie" You know mom like AFTER A JUNIE" We now read the Junie B Jones books by replacing her name with Janie!

I was having a conversation with Caylee and she looked at me dead serious held two fingers up in the shape of a triangle and pointed them toward her eyes and then to my eyes and said "I watching you mom I watchin you"

Caylee and learning her colors oh my! She walked into my parents garage and came up to the red car that was sitting there and said "Ohhhhhh what a pretty apple car" I said oh you mean red? No mom APPLE .......Mrs Bates, you have your work cut out for you! LOL!!!

Life is very funny with these two around!! You just never know what is going to come out of there mouths next!!!!!
