Mr. Meets Miss.

I was your typical small town girl, ran around with the same kids all through high school, was pretty much convinced I would marry my high school crush and live happily ever after raising our kids to attend the same school we grew up in and go to the same church we attended and I was content with this dream......BUT God had bigger plans for me :) Once my high school happy bubble was gleefully popped I went on to college,  in the summer of 2002 a friend of mine told me about a guy she knew at her church whom she had decided would be prefect for me. He was tall, had blonde hair (most of the time) and loved to cook (which was something I enjoyed too) so summer passed ( a summer we both would have been better off deleting-just being honest! LOL!) and in August of 2002 Tim called and asked me out for a blind date at the Olive Garden. I remember wanting to call and cancel so many times!!! I would pick up the phone and then hang up before dialing, my mom and sister gave me the biggest lectures about how I would never know unless I went, a coworker thought she would be cute and fill my head with all of these horror stories! LOL! On Sept 6th I walked up the sidewalk and straight into the heart of one Mr. Tim Gasen (Hey that's what he said I am not dramatizing it for blog purposes!!) He said I had him from hello, he couldn't believe that I was confident enough to walk up to some guy standing there with his hands in his pockets, not knowing who he was from Adam and introduce myself. Dates later he would ask me how I knew it was him (ummmm hands in the pocket, nobody standing around tall blond hair-Here's your sign... ) I told him it was just a feeling! LOL!! We talked for a couple hours over pasta and soda's, it was amazing how easy the conversation came and how fast the nerves dissipated. I will NEVER forget the end our our date where Tim walked me to my car and kissed my cheek SHOOK my hand goodnight!!! I got in my car and laughed and smiled the whole way home! Tim and I dated a whirl wind of 5 months he gave me my first ever kiss (yes I was 19 years old and had never been kissed, that just kinda happened and then when I was 17 I decided that I had waited that long I would wait for Mr. Right ) on October 5th while dancing to Kenny Chesney's Me and You at one of my best friends wedding and he asked me to marry him on February 6th 2003, we were cuddling and the conversation just kinda happened, in March he surprised me at my job as a teller with a diamond ring and on August 23, 2003 we were married in my hometown at his church in a wedding that was filled with lots of love and laughter! We are still writing our story but to this day I am certainly glad I went on that blind date at the persistance of my family and friends!!
