Reunions, freezer meals and more :)
This weekend was one of those prefect summer weekends, the days lasted forever and were spent doing all the things I love :) Friday night we took the girls out on a "date" as Carleigh called it, shopping for school supplies and dinner at Bella Milanos, they did really well :) They are turning into such little ladies! This mama is glad to be done with diaper changes and formula bottles, it is funny as you transition from babyhood to childhood the freedom that you find once again!! I can think about going out to a restaurant and not be to worried if it is going to be baby friendly for my antsy kiddos, we were able to sit and visit the whole meal, Caylee only slid under the table twice for random reasons! Yes the Giggling Girl family is transitioning into a whole new realm and although I have LOVE LOVE LOVED every moment of babyhood I am SUPER excited for this next phase of their little lives!
After our fun Friday night we took it pretty easy on Saturday, did stuff around the house and helped Tim bake cheesecakes for his fifteen year reunion. The girls spent the evening playing board games and hanging out with Nana and Gma Shirley and had a blast while I had the chance to go out with my man and meet the people of his past, fun times! Look at these great yearbook pictures I found!!
Such a cutie!!!
Sunday was filled with lots of freezer cooking and baking!! Tim's new shift means that he eats breakfast at work on his "lunch" break so I made a bunch of breakfast burritos, sausage and cheese and bacon and cheese biscuits and froze them in individual baggies so that they are easy for him to grab and go! We also made zucchini bread with a garden picked zucchini!! Yum Yum!!!
The girls also helped daddy make a Mississippi Mud Dessert, which was to die for!!
Add in some swimming and yard work and it was the recipe for the prefect summer weekend!!! I can't believe summer is almost over!! We still have to squeeze in the fair and a Knights Action Park day!!! The fair kicks off tomorrow and the girls are looking forward to the twilight parade and "carnibble" rides!! Hope you have a great rest of your week bloggy friends!!! We will see you back soon!

Gasen Girl Giggles
Carleigh was telling an old teacher about a fish her dad caught on vacation " Mrs. P my dad caught the biggest fish on vacation" Mrs. P said "Well Carleigh that is very nice but I don't really like fish" Carleigh looks at her and says "That's okay Mrs. P. cause this fish was half CAT half FISH you would have loved it!"
I found Caylee's dress shoes in the kitchen towel drawer when I asked her why they were in there she said "cause they needed dried off....."
While we were on vacation my dad took us out tubing, while Carleigh and Lydia were being pulled behind the boat we went buy a cave in the rocks that was on the water Carleigh says to Lydia "Hey Lydia, you know what lives in that water cave?" Lydia said no do you? Carleigh looked at her and said "DUH Water bears"
We were driving when all of a sudden Carleigh pipes up from the back seat "Jesus has the best present ever for us" I said Oh he does?? "Yup we just gotta die first!!! "
This next one was back in April but I sure don't want to forget it!
Caylee peed on the bathroom floor a few days ago because she didn't get in there fast enough, I looked at her and said " Caylee Michele did you pee on my floor???" she looked up at me and straight faced with out blinking those big blue eyes said " no mommy but daddy sure did make a big puddle"
In our house we refer to girl parts as a "Junie" I know I know it is so not politically correct but hey it is what it is! So one night I was reading Carleigh a story and she kept giggling as I read the little girls name in the story, the first time I did it her giggle was quiet, the second time I did it she giggled a little louder and the third time I said it she full out laughed and said "Mommy there is no way a mommy would name her kid "Junie" You know mom like AFTER A JUNIE" We now read the Junie B Jones books by replacing her name with Janie!
I was having a conversation with Caylee and she looked at me dead serious held two fingers up in the shape of a triangle and pointed them toward her eyes and then to my eyes and said "I watching you mom I watchin you"
Caylee and learning her colors oh my! She walked into my parents garage and came up to the red car that was sitting there and said "Ohhhhhh what a pretty apple car" I said oh you mean red? No mom APPLE .......Mrs Bates, you have your work cut out for you! LOL!!!
Life is very funny with these two around!! You just never know what is going to come out of there mouths next!!!!!

You just never know
Black Spandex Running Shorts, big baggy t-shirt that reads "This is my eatin shirt" and has fake grease spots all over it, gray socks, running shoes, hair thrown up in a very frizzy messy pony tail, and bangs that are sweaty, flat and stuck to the forehead and red faced and sweaty hot equals what I looked like one night after exercising at the track........This is what you need to know before I begin my story.
When I was in High School I had this very best friend who happened to be a boy whom I happened to be completely smitten with, it's true, we were close for lots of years, at one point I figured we would grow up and get married someday, but ya know what girl doesn't think about that with just about every boy she is ever involved with at some point in time...anyway, I DID NOT grow up and marry this boy, and our friendship declined pretty rapidly after I got involved with Tim, so it has been a good 8 or 9 years since I have even run into him ( can you see where this story is going....yeah I know your there already gee are you mortified for me?) so anyway I am exercising at the track with my best friend and we get done at 10:06 p.m., ( you know how you ALWAYS remember the exact time of traumatic events...weird huh!) I was hot, tired, and still had housework to go home and finish and so I had the following conversation with myself:
ME: "So I think I will stop and get a ice cold, fizzy, wonderful, diet Pepsi to get me through my chores"
MYSELF: "not a good idea you look like dog crap on a hot day""
ME:"yeah but it is 10:06, I won't know anyone at Casey's this late and even if I do who cares right, I mean I did just get done at the track"
MYSELF: (As I turn the car into Casey's parking lot and scan all the license plates to ensure I know no one) "Sooo not a good idea"
ME: "Aww man I forgot my wallet, lets dig for some quarters"
MYSELF: (looking up from quarter digging, in my homeless looking outfit) " O.M.G I sooo told you SO! "
ME: " Oh no this is so not happening" (As I sheepishly look up and there HE stands with some really cute girl ( WHY do they always have to have a really cute girl with them) getting ready to walk into the gas station, he smiles and waves I smile and wave even though I am sure I am about to die of mortification)
MYSELF: "Oh it is happening, it is DEFINITELY happening, just remember to........
ME: throw the car in reverse and speed quickly out of the parking lot, okay yeah I am on it.............
I never made it in for my soda, nope the Reverse out of the parking lot quickly was a MUCH better option, I didn't really need that soda anyway right....................
Guy at the gas station, if you are reading this crazy mom blog, don't be to flattered I would have been totally mortified to run into ANYONE from my past that night, it just happened to be you........
P.S. Hope life is treating you kind!

10 things you probably don't know about me :)
10. The Diary of Anne Frank is my ALL TIME Favorite Book and I read it for the first time in the 3rd grade! Although I am sure I was too young to understand it fully at that age I have read it many many times since!
9. You could usually find me at the top of the Accelerated Reader List all through school, one year I was even awarded a plaque :)
8. Even though I had a passion for reading, I hated to be assigned to read a specific book in High School and I almost always never understood why the books that got picked were ever made classics!
7. I have the dream of performing in the Muni someday! LOL!
6. I always wanted six kids, but am learning that 2 is a pretty prefect number
5. I went skinny dipping, in high school, with a church youth group :) yeah mull that one over for a bit! LOL! (PS it was all girls I mean we did have some boundaries!!!)
4. I hate math, all kinds in any shape or any form, the fact that Carleigh is going to start getting into math on a pretty regular basis scares me, good thing her dad is awesome at it!
3. I am the worlds WORST procrasinator but I do my best work under pressure!
2. I spent hours upon hours on a swing in my parents front yard, reading books, and listening to loud music cranked through my bedroom window, I cried lots of tears, spent endless hours on the phone, prayed lots of prayers for my future husband whom I thought would NEVER find me, and laughed A LOT on that swing, and now I live in that same house with my little family and I can't wait to replace the swing set, with a real swing so that my girls can do the same!
1. I have a dream, okay I have lots of dreams but I have a big dream of someday writing a novel, I want to hold a published verision of my very own book in my hands, and someday I am going to make that happen!! Someday!
0. I am the world's worst blogger! But I love it and I hope to somehow start to make it a routine of some kind! Thanks for hanging in there with me! ( Oh, and yes I know this makes 11, I hate math but I do know how to count!!)
And just because every post needs some kind of picture love.....

Turning Three
I wish I could say it isn't so, that my sweet last born didn't just turn three, but alas she did and of course I do want her to grow up, healthy and happy, but man it is sure bittersweet to witness your last little one turning into a little person, leaving babyhood behind and becoming more independent and opinionated! and oh my goodness is Caylee both of those!! :) We celebrated her big day with multiple festivities! On Friday night Tim's family came over for a birthday dinner and then on Saturday we had her kid's party at Build a Bear Workshop!
GREAT PARTY idea for any of you mom's out there!! It was so fun and I didn't have to do any party prep we just showed up and they took over!!! The played games and stuffed their bears and then fluffed there bears! Then we all went up to the food court and ate a big cookie and went to ride the train! it was lots of fun! and then on Sunday we went to brunch with my side of the family and went to the park! Needless to say our birthday girl was pretty worn out from all the fun by Sunday night!!!
Caylee girl,
Mommy just can not believe that you are already three years old!!! I remember being pregnant with you and wondering what you were going to be like, what kind of qualities you were going to have and being anxious to see how you were going to make your presence known in a room where your big sister was always quick to steal the show! But I didn't have to worry for long! From the minute you came out, Carleigh loved you and she was quick to pull you right into the center of attention with her! and it wasn't long before you showed her that you didn't need her help, you knew how to run the show without her! I love the way that you talk with your eyes, you are so animated and those big blue eyes speak everything you are not saying! You are VERY stubborn and strong willed and I hope those are traits you hold onto as a teenager and adult and that you learn to use them well, if you want to quit using them so much right now, that would be okay with mommy though!! Let's see right now you weigh 52 lbs and are super tall, I haven't measured you lately but I will update that as soon as we get it done! You have surpassed where Carleigh was on her growth chart at 4 and a half and I think that you are going to fly right past her!! You can count, know your shapes and talk like and adult, you talk in multiple sentences and there isn't a word that you don't use! You call polka dots coconuts and the other day you said "Gee mom why you have to be so bossy" when I told you to put on your shoes, these kinds of sentences are pretty typical of you. You also LOVE to sing, you have knack for remembering words to the songs you hear on the radio even if you have only heard it a time or two! You are really into Dora the Explorer and Bubble Guppies right now and you really love to paint and play playdough! You will not learn your colors, no matter how hard I try, sometimes I will catch you off guard and you will tell me them correctly and so I think maybe you do know them, you just like to rile me up by not performing when asked! You are getting ready to go to your Pre-School screening and I am anxious to hear what they have to say! You still have a binky and I am totally okay with that, your beverage of choice is always an "ice cold milky" and you have a blanket with ribbons on the edge that you take EVERYWHERE with you (made with love by your auntie Tricia). There are days when you never stop, you go constantly and then there are days when you come to me and ask to rock in the rockin chair and we usually always do that when you request it! We love you so much Caylee and we can't wait to see all the big girl changes your going to make in the next year while relishing in all the characteristics that still make you our baby!!
Love,
mommy
